Study Group

The Museum Study Group, celebrating the 120th anniversary of the birth of its founder Nise da Silveira, highlights one of the pillars of its work: the study of images as a way of understanding the inner world, the deep layers of our psyche.

Created as a study and research center, the Museum of Images from the Unconscious, located in Rio de Janeiro, cares for and promotes an important heritage of humanity. There are thousands of works produced by people who have experienced profound psychic experiences. Its doors are open to researchers and the general public.

Collection

Studios and Artists

The vast majority of authors who are part of the collection of the Museum of Images from the Unconscious never had access to artistic means in their previous lives, nor did they share the feeling of making art in their activities. Hence the freedom and boldness in creation, simply obeying the inner music.
