Enio was born in São João Del Rey in Minas Gerais state in 1962. He was the first of five children. At age 18, he joined the army and soon moved to the rank of paratrooper. He currently lives alone in the Copacabana neighbourhood.

He began to attend the Museu de Images do Inconciente in 1995, choosing painting and sculpture as his favourite activities. His intense experiences and emotions are expressed in the images he paints and sculpts. His works have a special quality, in form as well as colour, an original style that is quickly recognized in the exhibitions he participates in.
