Alexandre Rajão

Alexandre was born in Rio de Janeiro state in 1954. He studied visual arts at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He worked in data processing and was an employee of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for 8 years. He started coming to the Museu das Imagens do Inconsciente in the 1990s. Many of his works were shown and sold at the Ipanema Fair. Art critic Frederico Morais placed his work “within an academic strain or close to a symbolism of the past, still instigating, but of which it seems to want to free itself, cutting and superimposing figures, sometimes with surprising results”.
