Paulo César was born in Rio de Janeiro state in 1961. He studied archeology at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. In 1992 he got in contact with painting at the workshops of Espaço Aberto ao Tempo (Space Open to Time), an organization that developed creative activities with therapeutic purposes.

He also attended the workshops at the Museum of Images from the Unconscious. His works are of high quality, preferring geometric abstraction, carried out in extremely structured constructions.
