Roberto was born in Rio de Janeiro state.

In the 1990s, he began attending the Espaço Aberto ao Tempo (Space Open to Time, EAT) and the Museum of Images from the Unconscious. Gifted with great creativity, he developed his works based on mathematical concepts, applying them to his painting.

According to critic Frederico Morais, “Roberto Garcia’s modular painting, founded on mathematical calculations, is a combinatorial art form that could have consequences for design, integrating with architecture or functioning as a support for murals (tile paintings).”
